Beyond the Classroom – My Internship Journey at VataVriksh Parent Care

Introduction – More Than Just an Internship

Internships are often seen as a way to connect what we learn in class with real-life work, but my experience at VataVriksh Parent Care has been more than just that. It has given me a chance to learn new things, understand people better, and grow both personally and professionally.

From the start, this internship helped me see things from a different perspective. Working in senior care made me realize that taking care of elderly people is not only about their physical health, but also about their emotional and social needs. Spending time with them, listening to their stories, and observing their daily routines helped me understand how important patience and empathy are in this field.

Small Actions, Big Impact

I also learned that even small actions can make a big difference. Simple things like having a conversation, helping them with small tasks, or just being there for them can improve their mood and make them feel valued. This made me understand how important it is to treat everyone with respect and kindness, especially older people who may sometimes feel lonely.

Understanding Dementia and Its Challenges

One of the most important things I learned during my internship was about dementia. Before this, I only had a basic idea of what it was. But through this experience, I understood how it affects not just the person, but also their family members. I learned that people with dementia may behave differently, forget things, or get confused, and this requires a lot of patience and understanding from caregivers.

This experience also showed me that caring for someone with dementia is not easy. It requires proper communication, support, and a calm approach. I also realized how important it is for families to have support systems, as it can be emotionally challenging for them as well.

Exploring Social Media and Research Work

Apart from healthcare, my internship also gave me exposure to social media and research work. While working on social media, I learned how platforms like Instagram and others can be used to spread awareness and share useful information. I got some idea about creating content and how to communicate messages clearly so that more people can understand and connect with them.

The research work helped me improve my thinking and understanding. I learned how to collect information, organize it, and present it properly. It also helped me become more curious and interested in learning new things. This part of the internship was useful in improving my analytical and writing skills.

Learning Something New Every Day

What I like most about this internship is that I get to learn something new almost every day. Some days I learn from interacting with people, while on other days I learn through observation or by doing tasks. This keeps the experience interesting and helps me improve step by step.

Building Responsibility and Professionalism

This internship has also helped me become more responsible. Being part of an organization like VataVriksh Parent Care made me understand the importance of being sincere and committed to my work. It showed me that even small contributions can be meaningful when done properly.

Personal Growth and Self-Reflection

It has also made me think more about my own behavior and attitude. I have become more patient and understanding in general. I now try to listen more carefully and be more considerate towards others.

Looking Ahead – Future Learning Goals

As I continue this internship, I hope to learn more and improve my skills further. I want to understand senior care better and take up more responsibilities so that I can contribute more effectively. I also hope to gain more confidence in handling different kinds of situations.

Conclusion – A Meaningful Learning Journey

Overall, my experience at VataVriksh Parent Care has been very useful and meaningful. It has helped me learn important life skills and given me a better understanding of people and their needs. I am glad to be a part of this journey and look forward to learning more in the future.
